NOTD - Girly Pink

Hey guys,

It's sort of an uninteresting day today. Myself, my sisters and my mam popped into town earlier for coffee and a mooch around some shops the came home. My hayfever has been acting up so badly the last few days and today it is definitely the worst it has ever been.

Since nothing exciting is going on I just thought I'd show you what I'm wearing on my nails.

The main colour I am wearing is a baby pink. I think Tanya Burr was wearing this in her latest video and I instantly fell in love. Knowing my nail varnish collection didn't have a colour like this I went rummaging through my younger sisters. I came across a colour pretty similar to it and thought I'd give it go. Since it's probably an incredibly cheap brand I don't expect it to last very long, but the colour is just so pretty that I couldn't resist. On top of one of the finished nails I put a sparkly top coat over it to add something different to them.

I am most definitely going to search for a drugstore version of this to add to my collection as I am loving the colour so much.

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hey Guys,

I have mostly seen this kind of post in videos so writing a post about my makeup routine might be a tad harder, but who doesn't love a challenge?

My daily makeup routine is very basic. My days are pretty simple so I do my makeup to match that.
Before I even apply makeup I wash my face to make sure there is no excess from the day before and then there is a 'blank canvas' per say to work with. To do this I either use facial wipes or wash my face using a facial gel.

After this I start with
  1. The base

After cleaning my face I apply a day time moisturiser. At the minute I'm just using superdrug vitamin E for normal to dry skin. When that's done I apply Collections Lasting Perfection Concealer to where it's needed most. This being under my eyes as dark circles seem to love me. I also put it around my nose as it gets some redness. I then start by putting on my foundation. I try not to use to much as my skin seems to be doing ok at the minute. Currently I'm using Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid. Then when all that is applied and my dark circle are still looking a bit 'dark' I just use a small bit of Hide the Blemish Concealer by Rimmel, and then that is the base done!

2. Eyes

On a day to day basis I keep my eyes super simple by just sweeping 'Sin' or 'virgin' over my lids. After I put eyeliner on and I use Liner Feutre by Bourjois. I love this certain one as its like a felt pen so it's super easy to use. When that's done I use Maybelline Falsies mascara on my eyelashes.

3. Cheeks and Powder

Firstly I apply Rimmel Match Perfection over my face to give the look more of a finish. Then I contour my cheeks using Délice de Poudre By Bourjois and for blush I use Benefits Dandelion blush as it's nice and light.

and voila, finished.

As you can see I don't do anything major or drastic but for a normal day to day that's how I like to keep it.

Do you do anything different for your day to day makeup?

Cocoa Brown 1 hour Tan Review

Hey guys,
Want to find out more about a fake tan that has taken Ireland by storm? Keep reading to find out more.

This review is on an Irish based product, Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan.
If you are in anyway Irish you have heard many people go on about this product and if not you have probably seen endless amounts of blog posts on it.

I'm not exactly a tan addict but when going on a night out with friends I tend to use a small bit to get rid of any paleness. Usually when buying tan I stick to what I know. For instance, instant tans so I can see it going on.

Since I had seen/heard everyone under the Irish sky rant and rave about this I thought I would give it a go. At first I was scared as there was no colour shade on the bottle and was terrified of turning out like a tangerine. Eventually I plucked up the courage and started to apply it.

When the tan comes out of the bottle it's a mousse like texture. (As you can see above.) As it's a brown colour you can also see your legs darkening so you know exactly where the tan is going. This made the process easier.

The whole concept of this tan is you leave it for one hour to dry and you have a bronzed, naturally look of your skin. This couldn't be more true. With just one application, the colour on your legs looks 100% natural. Perfect right?

From the picture above you can see that my legs no longer look scarily white but instead bronzed and beautiful! I have just used one application but if you wanted a darker look you could go for another.

I could not praise Cocoa Brown Tan enough and for just €7 a bottle from your local Pennys (Primark) you can't go wrong.

Have you used Cocoa Brown Tan yet? If so, what did you think?

My Current Hair Products

Hey guys,
It's been a few days since I wrote a post. Sorry about that but my weekend was super busy. (for once!)

Looking after your hair should be one thing everyone does. No matter who you are, you want soft, silky and utterly beautiful locks.
This are some of the products I use in my hair at the minute to tame my mane!

1. Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Shampoo & Conditioner - After using this my hair always feel super soft and I'm not going to lie, its well needed considering how dry the ends of my hair are. It also has to most amazing smell using red raspberries as its main scent. This shampoo and conditioner mainly focuses on split ends , so if yours are looking a bit worse for wear, this is one of the many you can try.

2. V05 Heat Protection Spray - This is just your average protection spray. I tend to use straighteners quite a bit so using something that keeps from destroying my hair even more is essential. This certain one protect hair up to 230 degrees. (which I would not recommend as its way to high!) I'm not 100% sure if it's better than other protection sprays but it's better than not protecting your hair at all.

3. V05 Plump it Up Weightless Mousse - The reason I picked this one was because it leaves hair not feeling or looking like a mousse was used. One thing I hate about mousses is when hair is left looking hard. This mousse also has heat defence which is a plus. I use this on wet hair and work it through the roots and ends to give my hair more volume. I do like this certain brand so if anyone is looking for a new mousse this one works perfectly.

4. John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum - I received this handy little thing in my June GlossyBox. As a girl with curly, dry hair something to de-frizz my hair is something that is key in my hair care products. I can't say much about it as I haven't had it very long but I am loving it so far.

5. Caudalíe Divine Oil - This has appeared in other posts but it is something that I am now addicted to. It goes on the ends of my hair after washing it to make sure they are restored back to their natural beauty. (Did I just say that?) It works wonders and my hair is already starting to feel healthier. Any person who's hair needs some kind of pick me up should certainly try this out.

That is pretty much everything that works its way into my haircare kit. If there is any products you are loving be sure to let me know.

NOTD - Rimmel Salon Pro Reggae Splash

Hey Guys,

I'm just going do a small simple post today about what's on my nails.
Rimmel Salon Pro nail varnish is perfect for someone on a budget but still looking for a good quality shade.

When purchasing this nail varnish I choose the shade 'Reggae Splash' At the minute I am loving anything orange so this was perfect. It has a hint of pastel in the colour so it's not extremely bright which is one thing I love about it.

Rimmel prices are so affordable so with a price of €6/€7 you cannot go wrong with these.
The range even does 32 different shades so you're spoilt for choice when it comes to picking a colour.

When applying you need a good 2/3 coats to cover any streaks but so worth it when you are finished.

This is definitely one of my favourite nail varnishes and cannot wait to pick up more.

Is anyone else loving Rimmel Salon Pro?

30 Day Snap #12 (and quick update)

Here's a strange shaped strawberry my sister gave me today.

I also don't have time to write another post today as I'm not long home, so a quick update.
I went and dyed my hair again. (surprise, surprise) I just went back to my normal colour as my hair was getting terribly damaged so it was the best choice really.
Here's a quick snap of the colour.

I didn't have any plans today so when Zoe came home from school we decided to make some mini muffins.
They do taste delicious if I do say so myself.

Tips on how to be positive and happy.

Hey everyone,
I thought I'd do a bit of a different post today on how to stay happy and positive. Lately I've been seeing people being a bit down and I don't really like it so I thought maybe this would help. (Maybe it won't but this post won't hurt anyone!)

Picture taken from here

1. Spend time with people you care about - One of the most important things you can do is spend time    with the people that make you happy, be that friends or family. These are people you have grown up with
you and know you better than anyone so they can instantly make you feel better.

2. Don't dwell on the bad things - If we ever feel down one thing everyone does is dwell on everything that has gone wrong. By doing this you are stopping yourself from seeing the good things around you. If whatever bad thing you are thinking about has happened, it's in the past so there's no point in thinking what you could have done differently. Instead think about what you have and be grateful.

3. Getting enough rest - Along with a lot of people, I am one who needs to work on their sleeping pattern. Sleep plays a vital role in how we feel. I know whenever I don't get enough sleep I am not one to be around, and I'm sure others are like that too. As we all know  7 1/2 hours sleep a night is what we need, so one night try get to bed early and see how you feel the next day.

4. Exercise/eating healthy - No matter what, how you treat your body is going to affect how you feel. That means what you put into it and how you keep fit. I am one of those people that says they will do some kind of workout but then keeps putting it off. Eating healthily and doing a bit of exercise will suddenly make you feel brighter and refreshed even by doing a small 10 minutes. So get up and get out of the house and you'll feel the difference.

5. Do things you like - This can be a number of things such a spending time with friends, listening to music, taking some time to yourself, etc. Instead of doing what everyone else wants to do, take some time to yourself and do what you love and you'll be sure to come out of it feeling happier.

6. Do something good - If you help somebody with something/ do a random act of kindness you will instantly feel better about yourself and more than likely put a smile on our face for most of the day.

7. Work towards your goals - One way to do make yourself feel happier is by achieving something you want to. No matter how big/small if you want to do something do it. Life is to short to just think about it. If it's big start with baby steps and soon enough you'll get there. One thing I will say is do not let what others think stop you. It's what you want not what they want.

8. Forgive people - Holding grudges is one thing that will stop you from being as happy as you want. You don't have to be best friends with this person if you don't want to, just be the bigger person and forgive and forget. A big weight will be lifted and you'll ten times better for it.

9. Make plans - There is nothing better than making plans and having something to look forward to. Being able to do yourself up and head out for a good night with friends can instantly change a persons mood. Even making small plans like going to the beach, just to give yourself something to look forward to will make you feel so much better.

10. Smile - As silly as it sounds, smiling can change your mood tremendously. It makes others want to be around you, gets rid of stress and makes you feel better about yourself. It gives you a look of confidence and it's contagious so it will spread.

I hope this helps anyone who is feeling a bit down and let me know if you do anything differently to stay happy.

30 Day Snap #9

Me and my friends travelled to the beach today because why waste this fantastic weather we're having?
It was such a fun day and Killian as messing with the football and I have no clue why I but I thought it would make a good picture and well, I think it did.
Sadly my editing skills couldn't do the picture justice so Killian helped with that.

Fingers crossed the weather stays this nice.

30 Day Snap #7

I'm heading to a 21st tonight and painting my nails this colour. How exciting..

Beauty Wishlist

Hey Everyone,
Today I thought I'd do a small wishlist of beauty products that I have read/watched reviews on.

These are all products that in the future I hope to add to my makeup collection.

1. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation - This foundation is meant to leave your skin soft and give it a certain      glow. This product is around €35, a bit pricey, but meant to be worth every penny.

2. Nars Laguna Bronzer - If you are in anyway a makeup junkie I am sure you have heard many people rant about this. This product is also meant to give you skin a glow (which clearly I am all about) and is good for giving skin a tanned looked. It was also Instyles 'best beauty buy' 2013. It is priced at around €30.

3. Mac Omega Eyeshadow - If you are one of those people, like me, who loves neutral shades this is apparently the go to one. Not only is it used as an eye-shadow but most use it as an eyebrow colour too. Priced at around €12.

4. Bourjois Little Round Pot #90 - I have been searching for a white eyeshadow that would stand out for quiet awhile now. Whenever I get one it just blends in with my skin. Yesterday I was told about this one , which I hoping to get soon and fingers crossed it works. Priced at around €8.00.

5. Essie Mint Candy Apple -  I am such a nail varnish junkie. I just love colours on my nails and from what I hear Essie is one of the best. From what I have read this certain brand it meant to last longer and appear brighter. These price at €9.99.

6. Revlon Lip butters - I have heard everyone under the sun ranting and raving about these certain lipsticks. The most attractive thing about these is that while wearing it, it moisturies your lips as well. This is one product I am very excited to buy. (Even if it won't be for awhile!) Priced at around €9

Is there any products you are dying to get your hands on?

My First Glossy Box - May

Hey everyone,
I'm a bit late putting this one up, I know, but I just wanted to get a feel for some of the products before I posted anything but better late than never eh?

I was so excited when this box arrived and couldn't wait to see what goodies were inside.

The box:

The Products:
Caudalie Divine Oil

What Glossybox says: 'This oil is both light and super hydrating. It's unique blend of grapes, hibiscus, sesame and argan oils are immediately absorbed into the skin with a non - greasy finish.

What I say: To me this oil works wonders. My hair hasn't been in tip top shape lately so I started using this to see if it would improve it and it did. I feel it smells like roses but not to strong and hair was left super soft after.

Jelly Pong Pong Mascara

What Glossybox says: 'If you think fairy lashes sounds a bit girly, trust us, this hard-wearing mascara is anything but. It is however genuinely magical'

What I say: This is a waterproof based mascara and the brush on it is ever so good but I did not like the mascara itself. My eyelashes didn't look that different and when I was taking it off it came off in pieces that were hard to remove. I'm not very keen on this so I don't know if I'll use it again.

Bellapierre super lipgloss

What Glossybox say: 'Bellapierre's super lipgloss, made with natural ingredients and enriched with vitamin E, jojoba abd avocado, gives 'going natural' a whole new meaning.'

What I say: I'm not the biggest lipgloss fan and this particular one wouldn't make me change my mind. I found it to be a little on the sticky side but if you are a lipgloss fan you might think differently.

Beautiful Movements prime & create mixing medium

What Glossybox says: 'Clear aloe vera based gel, which can be turned into a cream foundation, blush and eye shadow that works for all skin types.'

What I say: I haven't started using this product yet as I'm not finished with my other one but I will review it when I start using it.

L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream

What Glossybox says: 'Made with organic angelica from the Drome region of France, the Angelica Hydration cream moisturises and revitalises, leaving skin looking plumped, smoothed and absolutely radiant.'

What I say: This is another product I have yet to start using but just by the smell of it I can tell I'm going to love it!

Did anyone get anything different in their May Glossyboxes?

How I Spent My Bank Holiday Weekend

Hey Everyone,
Is it just me or does it seem like there has been more bank holiday weekends this year than before?
I never really take much notice of them but for some reason I could not wait for this weekend. I actually planned so much.

Sunday Nights Outfiit
Dress, Bag and Shoes from Pennys (Primark)

So my long weekend actually started on Thursday and I went to visit my friend Clodagh. My friend Fiona was there too and we decided to for a drive around Kilmore where we got ice-cream and went to the beach. The weather was nice so it was such a good day!

On Friday my sister had a sports day in her school so myself and my mam spent most of the afternoon there. Saturday was kind of a random day as I met some friends in town and there was a Carnival/festival type of thing happening on the quay so we went and had a look around there. Then later we went for a drive out to a forest and just sat in the park.

Then is was suddenly Sunday and this was the day I was most looking forward to as I was going out and would see plenty of people I hadn't seen in awhile. It was such a good night out and it was so nice seeing everyone.

So as you can tell I had a pretty jam packed weekend and I'm so glad I did. Hopefully more long weekends will be like this.

How did you all spend your long weekend?

30 Day Snap #3

Today was one of those days where the weather was so nice that all you could do is sit outside and get as much tan time before it disappears. It is Ireland after all.

30 Day Snap #2

Today's picture of everything that will be going on my face tonight. Minus the fake tan..Yikes.
It's a Bank Holiday so me and my friends are going out!
My bank holiday weekend blog will be up tomorrow.
