Summer Road Trip #1 - Haunted Halls, Beaches and Lighthouses.

Hey Guys,

The weather in Ireland has actually been so lovely the last while so Clodagh and myself took to her car and headed off on a bit of road trip. We ended up going to Loftus Hall, some beaches and Hook Lighthouse. It was so nice and relaxing and the weather was such a plus.

Loftus hall is a mansion in Wexford that is mostly known for being haunted by the devil and a ghost. (Weird huh?) It has been closed for many years but over the last while has re-opened and holds tours every so often. We didn't actually go in for a tour but plan on doing so later this summer.

We then headed to Hook Head Lighthouse which is just up to road from Loftus Hall. The area itself is so nice and if anyone finds themselves down in these parts it is definitely worth the visit.

I hope do more of these road trip blogs coming into the summer so hopefuly the weather stays this nice.

Trip to Dublin Zoo.

Hey Guys,

If you follow me on Twitter you know that I wasn't posting last week as I was away. I was in Dublin as I decided doing a makeup course at The International Makeup Academy was the right thing for me to do. (I may do a review of my experience if people want to hear about it?)

While being up there I had two free days and myself and my family decided on the last we would take a trip to the zoo.
Now I don't know if it's just me but for some reason the zoo seems so much more exciting when you're that bit older. Don't get me wrong it's just as exciting when your a kid but being a big child at heart, I couldn't have been more excited to go.

In Ireland we don't tend to have great weather during the summer but during the last few weeks we have been enjoying a bit of a heatwave. On Friday the heat was so strong in the zoo that most animals were in the shade keeping cool so it was pretty hard to see a lot of them.

Saying this I thought I'd share with you a few of the animals we were lucky enough to catch a look at.

*Be warned the next half is very picture heavy*

Near the end of the day there was a lot more animals but I was seriously melting from the heat that it just got to hard to keep up and take pictures. All I could think about doing was sitting in a bag of ice!

If you like these kind of lifestyle blogs let me know and I'll try do some more.

A Place of Beauty

Hey guys,
Do you know those days where nothing is planned and you just think it's going to be another day at home? Yeah that was today. Nothing to exciting was happening so myself, my mam and my sister decided we would go for a stroll to Edenvale, a forest like trail close to our house.

This place is simply lovely during the day as it's full of lakes, waterfalls and old trails.
It's close enough to my house it's easy enough to go there, yet I never do it that often.

The next part of this post is very picture heavy so enjoy.

(Yes Tanyia, you would make a great monkey...)

(Dramatic walkaway...)

Hopefully you can see why I think this place looks so nice from my pictures and if there is any place you love to go when bored/want to clear your head share it in the comments below.

How I Spent My Bank Holiday Weekend

Hey Everyone,
Is it just me or does it seem like there has been more bank holiday weekends this year than before?
I never really take much notice of them but for some reason I could not wait for this weekend. I actually planned so much.

Sunday Nights Outfiit
Dress, Bag and Shoes from Pennys (Primark)

So my long weekend actually started on Thursday and I went to visit my friend Clodagh. My friend Fiona was there too and we decided to for a drive around Kilmore where we got ice-cream and went to the beach. The weather was nice so it was such a good day!

On Friday my sister had a sports day in her school so myself and my mam spent most of the afternoon there. Saturday was kind of a random day as I met some friends in town and there was a Carnival/festival type of thing happening on the quay so we went and had a look around there. Then later we went for a drive out to a forest and just sat in the park.

Then is was suddenly Sunday and this was the day I was most looking forward to as I was going out and would see plenty of people I hadn't seen in awhile. It was such a good night out and it was so nice seeing everyone.

So as you can tell I had a pretty jam packed weekend and I'm so glad I did. Hopefully more long weekends will be like this.

How did you all spend your long weekend?

Positive Post #2

Why hello there,

During the weekend I wasn't in the best of moods and everything seemed to pile on top of me at the time. At the minute I'm over it and am feeling rather cheerful, so it seems like the perfect time to do another positive post.

This little 'lift me up' post is for anyone who is as you'd 'stuck in a rut' and has no idea what they want to do with their lives.

I am a big believer in 'whats for you won't pass you by' but at the same time it's understandable that you have to work for it. Your not going to find it sitting with your bum plonked on the couch! Not going to lie, sometimes I need a little reminding of this.

If you try something and you realise it isn't for you, that's ok. Some people make such a big deal out of stuff like this but at least you can say you tried it and it wasn't what you expected. You then try to figure out what it is you want and go for that. Don't listen to what others say about your choices. In the end it's up to you what you want to do, nobody else.

We're all young and have our whole lives ahead of us so don't worry if you have no clue what your future holds. Something will pop up and you'll be so glad you didn't rush into anything when it does come along.

All you have to do is sit down, have a good think about what it is you want and go for it. It may not be easy but once you get it all the hard work will pay off. So if you have a dream go for it and don't let anyone stop you.

If anybody is feeling like they have no clue what they want to do with their lives I hope this post helped.

OOTD - Zoe's Confirmation

It's been a rather busy week in the Rochford household, first a graduation then a confirmation. Busy, busy, busy!

(excuse the terrible lighting in the last picture, I was being rushed out the door when these were taken.)

Dress: I bought my dress in a small little shop in town called ViVi but sadly the shop is no longer there. It was €30. As soon as I tried it on I knew I had to have it!

Shoes: My shoes were bought in Pennys (Primark to most) and were €18. These were the comfiest shoes as they were a wedge and I felt they gave the dress a summery look.

Bag: I've had this bag for awhile and I didn't want to go buy a new one so this little one was handy. I bought it in Pennys and was €9.

The day was absolutely brilliant and I'm sure my sister couldn't have asked for a better day!

My cousin has taken some pictures and when I get hold of some I'll add them to this post.

OOTD - Sara's Graduation

Yesterday my Twin sister graduated from a childcare course she has being doing all year so me and my family went up to see her. We were all so proud. (Go twin!)

I didn't really know how fancy/casual it was going to be as it was only small so I decided to go for a mint and cream striped dress.

The dress and bag are both from Primark. The bag was €13 and I can't really remember the price of the dress but I think it was around €17. I decided I would keep my make up rather subtle and just did a brown smokey eye. Nothing to hectic. Then I just painted my nails a mint colour using a brand called W7. I'm not sure where you can get this brand as they sold it in a shop that's no longer open in my town.

We had such a lovely day and went for dinner in a restaurant called Luigi Malones in Tembar, Dublin. The food was so nice and the staff were so friendly. I would highly recommend this place! After this, we headed to the college Sara was in and watched her graduate.

It was such a lovely day and hope to have another one like it soon.

How I've been spending my day #1

Is anyone else in complete shock that it's May already or is that just me? It feels like 2013 has just started but instead were halfway through the year already. Anyway summer has finally arrived and thankfully we can ditch our winter rags and whip out our summer wardrobes.

So today I had no idea what was going to happen. Me and my friends had planned to go a forest where we live as it's so nice when the sun is out. Those plans didn't exactly work out so instead I spent the day with my family. My sisters confirmation is coming up and the dress I ordered didn't live up to expectations so there was a hunt for a new one in store.

Since the sun was shining there was only one thing to do, soak it in sitting outside the pub! (Typical Irish.) After this a Chinese was in order and it was a perfect way to end the day.

Did anyone do anything interesting with there day?
