September Favourites

Hey Guys,

I've never really done a monthly favourites post before just simply because I never seem to go through that many products, but this month I picked up a few new pieces that I have been loving.

Revlon Colourstay Foundation - Coming into the colder months I prefer my foundation to have a bit more coverage as my face tends to get a but red from the cold. Usually for foundations I tend to use either Rimmel or Maybelline but I heard a lot about Revlon's colourstay and thought I'd give it a go. This is perfect if you want your foundation to stay put all day. I've worn this for a day on the town to a night out with friends and was so surprised at how well it lasted. It is a bit on the pricey side at €17.80 in boots but only €15.50 in superdrug but is worth every penny.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush - For my birthday I was extremely happy to get a few different Real Techniques brushes. For applying foundation I used to just use a flat brush but now I could never go back to one. Using just a small amount of foundation this brush can spread it so evenly over the face and give such a flawless look. I couldn't have asked for a better gift!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - At first I couldn't understand what the big hype about this was. I mean it's just a powder right? Well yes obviously it's just a powder but it gets rid of any unwanted shine on the face and for my skin type it doesn't make foundation look 'cakey'. This one is in the shade translucent so it doesn't bring any extra unwanted colour to the face.

Bourjois Liner Pinceau Liquid Eyeliner - So I did a review on this last week which you can read here so there isn't exactly that much to say. This makes such a precise line and makes it so easy to make any sort of flick. I really couldn't recommend it enough.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Mascara - I'm pretty sure I have said this in another post but I am a huge mascara junkie. Not even joking, I have at least 10 more mascaras in my room. This certain on makes my eyes look so much more awake and lashes lengthen a great amount. For me it doesn't beat Maybelline Falsies but it is a close second.

CK One Shock - So after my birthday I thought I would treat myself to a new perfume and since this one was on sale I just couldn't resist. It has such a lovely smell and I've used it pretty much everyday!

So that's this months favourites, if you are using any of these let me know in the comments below.

Bourjois Liner Pinceau Liquid Eyeliner

]

Hey Guys,

So awhile ago I had run out of eyeliner and needed to find a suitable liquid one as I'm not the biggest fan of gel liners. (I'm sorry, don't hate me) After searching through every brand I eventually came across Bourjois Liner Pinceau. I have only one word to describe this liner and it is amazing!

The best thing about it is the size of the brush. As you can see from the picture above it's ever so thin meaning you can make the liner as thin or thick as you like it. It is also great for adding the flick. I can't lie and say I'm the best at adding a flick to my liner because I'm not but this eyeliner has made the whole process so much easier. It is so easy to guide and perfect for building up the amount you want on your eye.

The last picture is an example of how the liner came out when I used it one day.
If you are on the hunt for a new liquid eyeliner and are unsure of which one to get, this is a serious must. I haven't been let down yet and will hopefully repurchase it when the time comes.

OOTD - Tickled Pink

Hey Guys,

When it comes to winter I never really change up my wardrobe. I'm not the kind of person who ditches the shorts and runs for the jeans. Jeans just aren't my friend and I never seem to find a pair that I like enough to wear. One thing this means is that I'm left with all my summer gear and a few jumpers.

With winter being considerably colder than summer in Ireland, layers are something that are needed. Since were not fully into those winter months and it's only starting to get colder a full winter outfit was not needed.

It was one of those days where one minute it's cold and the next minutes it's warm so who knows what to wear?

Today I popped on one of the outfits people will see me in a lot and went to the garden to take some pictures.

Jumper and Skater Skirt - New Look
Shoes, scarf, headband and stopwatch necklace - Primark
Heart necklace - Awear

If you liked this outfit and would like to see more posts like this let me know in the comments below.

The Autumn Tag

Hey Guys,

So I got tagged by Estelle of Letmegoxo (she's so close to 100 followers so if you don't follow her already go check out her blog) to do the autumn tag.

For Autumn, what is your...

Favourite thing about it? I'm going to be honest Autumn isn't one of my favourites because I'm more of a summer girl but one of my favourite things about it is the crunch of the dry leaves when they are after falling from the trees. It's such a nice sound. That probably sounds a bit strange..

Favourite Drink? Hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows. It is perfect for those cold nights and all you need is something to warm you up and lets not lie, it tastes so good!

Favourite scent/candle? Without a doubt it has to be vanilla. Whenever I look for candles I'm always drawn towards that scent even though it's so simple!

Best lipsticks? As I have said in other posts I am not the best for wearing lipsticks but this autumn I am really liking any deep reds or berry! If they have any of those colours in the Kate Moss collection I will be getting my hands on them soon.

Go to moisturiser? Nivea Soft. I've finished my first tub of it and my skin has never been softer. If you haven't tried it, it's a must.

Go to colour for the eye? For me it's probably the classic bronze but at the minute I am really loving some purple shades. (Not to bright though)

Favourite Band/singer  or music to listen to? My iPod is always changing and I have the weirdest type of songs on it but at the minute I am loving anything calm so either Ben Howard, Gabrielle Aplin or Lana Del Rey.

Favourite outfit to wear? Jumpers, jumpers and jumpers. I don't deal with being cold very much so a nice knit jumper with leggings and converse or boots. (Need to make a cheeky purchase a new pair.)

Autumn Treat? It will probably be the boots so they will last me into the winter so I don't get cold feet!

Favourite place to be? Since it's getting colder and the weather isn't as nice probably in bed watching some of my favourite shows!

Thanks to Estelle for tagging me it was actually really fun!

Fashion Union Wishlist

Hey Guys,

Yesterday I received an email from etailPR say that they were holding a competition with a clothing website called Fashion Union.(You can visit the site here.)

The price of the competition is to win a £500 voucher for Fashion Unions website. To be in with a chance to win all you have to do is go onto the website and pick some of your favourite items from their website and put them into a post. Fashion Union will pick 8 of their favourites and then Fashion Union facebook fans will like their favourite wishlist and the one with the most likes wins.

If you would like to be in for a chance to win just email bloggers@etailpr.com and all the detail are here: http://bit.ly/199X4ST

This is my entry.

Fashion Union Wishlist

For my entry I thought I might as well do an outfit that I would wear for my wishlist.
I chose:

Total Price - £132

The reason I picked the outfit I did was because it seems like the perfect casual winter outfit. Lately I have been seeing jumpers matched with denim shirts in pretty much every shop and I actually think it looks really good so that's where I got my idea for that part. Disco pants are the kind that go with anything so it was easy enough to match them with the jumper. When it comes to winter boots are a must simply because no-one wants icicles for toes. I picked the bag and bracelet just to make the outfit look that bit more complete and polished.

If you haven't already entered you should because this is a great price to win. What girl wouldn't want £500 to spend on clothes?

All About The Brows

Hey Guys,

Eyebrows... everyone has had their ups and downs with them. Surely most people reading this went through that period of over-plucking and ending up with barely any brow or making one look completely different to the other. Not to worry though, we have all experienced some heartbreak when it comes to our eyebrows.

Usually when you get that bit older you start to realise what kind of shape/colour suits you face and try to keep the tweezers from getting to friendly with the brows. Thanks to Cara Delevingne, who most certainly rocks the big brow look, fuller brows are making a comeback.

The present has certainly been a good time for brows and some celebs have definitely gotten things right in that department.

In the past eyebrows weren't exactly peoples best features and ended up looking more like this:

Obviously everyone has their own opinion to how eyebrows are supposed to look and how they are not supposed to look. If people prefer the skinny brow look that is 100% up to them

For people starting out with doing something with their eyebrows, if I could give you one piece of advice it would be not to over pluck. Growing eyebrows out can be a real pain and actually take longer than you think.

Here is a tip I learned when it comes to doing eyebrows:
  • Using an eyebrow pencil fill in exactly how you want your eyebrow to look
  • Pluck out any hairs around the shape that you feel are unwanted
  • Only take hairs out in small parts or you could end up taking out one to many
How I fill in my brows:

What I use:

Spooly

Real Techniques brow brush

Benefit big beautiful eyes chocolate brown shadow

I am in no way saying I have the perfect brows because believe me my brows are far from perfect. Since I was talking about brows do's and don't I thought I might as well throw in how I fill mine in. After applying foundation to the face eyebrows can look a bit funny. It's always best to fill them in to make them stand out. I brush them out getting the shape I want using a spooly. This makes it easier to apply the shadow. I get some onto the brow brush and fill in from the start to the end. Personally I don;t need brow gel as the don't tend to move during the day but if you have unruly brows just apply a layer of brow gel or clear mascara after filling them out.

Eyebrows are personal to everyone and if you know what suits you perfect, if not I hope this helped in a small way.

Zoeva Nude Palette and 96 Colours Palette

Hey Guys,

(Please excuse the mess of the palettes, I had taken pictures when they first arrived but the quality wasn't great so I had to retake them)

(Nude Palette)

(96 eyeshadow palette)

(Some of the brighter colours)

Two weeks ago I was searching for some new eyeshadow palettes to add to my makeup kit. I came across a brand called 'Zoeva'. Personally I had never heard of them so after extensive research into the brand I was happy enough to search through their products. They have such a huge collection, not only on palettes but on brushes, foundations and many more.

For my makeup kit I was looking for nude colours and also a few bright colours. The prices were extremely reasonable with single palettes not even reaching €20. The great thing about this site is on most palettes you get a deal where if you buy two of whatever palettes you want you get them both for €32. I opted for the nude palette and the 96 eyeshadow palette.

The colours in the nude are perfect for if you are going for the more subtle look but also if you want a deep smokey eye look. The 96 eyeshadow palette is exactly as it sounds. 96 different eyeshadows ranging from light to bright colours. The colours look more pigmented but by applying more you get a great look from any of the eyeshadows.

The delivery took a week to arrive and I couldn't have been more happy when they did arrive.

Have you ever ordered anything from Zoeva?

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

Hey Guys,

So after watching many makeup tutorials by Tanya Burr I decided it was time to try Clinique's Bottom Lash Mascara. I myself am a big mascara junkie and won't be running out of any in the near future with the pile I have.

When it comes to doing my make up I never tend to put mascara on my bottom lashes just because it looks to chunky and gets way to messy. This is one reason I opted to buy the bottom lash mascara.

Until I got home I didn't actually realise they gave me the colour black/brown but to be honest it doesn't make a huge difference.

Due to the size of the brush it is so easy to apply the mascara to the small lashes and doesn't leave a mess or clumps.

It makes eyelashes pop and look as good as the top lashes.

This product costs 16 and even though it seems expensive it is worth every penny. So far it's one of the best pieces I've added to my makeup kit.

What Do Your Spots Mean?

Hey Guys,

No matter who you are or how well you look after your skin you are guaranteed to get spots at some point. Some worse than others but that's life, right?

Spots can pop up at the most unexpected time and more than likely they will appear when you really don't need to see them.

I'm no expert in skin but I am going to go through why spots show up in certain places.

Spots on the chin:

This is a place where most people tend to get a lot. This has nothing to do with diet or stress or anything like that. These spots are simply hormonal. As they are hormonal they affect girls more than guys especially once a month. Due to them being hormonal there isn't really a way of getting rid of them. They usually just disappear by themselves.

Spots on the cheek:

Cheeks can be a difficult one to say because there is so many different reasons why spots occur here. From research it has shown that if spots appear near the top of your cheeks it's to do with lungs. This mostly affects smokers and such. Another reason is to so with diet such as meats and sugars so the best way to see is by changing some of the things you are eating.

Spots on the forehead:

Usually when people think of spots on their forehead they blame their hair due to fringes and the likes. This is one of the main reason due to grease from the hair and the products being used and sweat build up during the day. Another reason is reason can be to do with the diet. If you feel there is some sort of food that could be causing the break-out, so switch around some foods and it may clear it up in no time.

Spots on the nose:

Spots on the nose or even just a redness around the nose is usually caused by the heart. If you suffer regularly from spots or either redness it's probably best to consult a doctor just to make sure your blood pressure is ok. Also it could be diet so make sure you are eating foods that are good for you and getting enough vitamins.

When I did my makeup course one of the first things we were told about the skin is how important it is to take care of it. Spots are things that can pop up at any random time, but with a healthy diet and a good skin care routine it can be much easier to control them.

As I said I am no expert in skin or anything but these are some of the things I have learned and researched.
